Rhodoendron vellereum Evergreen grand shrub. 2 to 5 m high. Oblong obovate to oblong lanceolate leaf, spongy-haired back, grey white. Racemose umbel, 10 to 12 flowers; pink corolla, rosecolour puncta inside. Flowering: July to Aug. Cold hygrophiles. Heliophiles. No tolerant to poorness. Sinoendemic. South and southeast Tibet, 3500 to 4400 m, dark coniferous forest or alpine thickets. Southeast Qinghai.
